This beautiful home on 12+ acres is already an island oasis but the current home has no connection to the landscape. The site consists predominantly of wetlands so the existing structure is restricted to its footprint. There is about 6’ of grade change between the front and back of the house so by feathering the grade through paths, steps and planting the site becomes more cohesive. Raising the grade and adding a pool to the south of the house provides a destination to the outdoors with beautiful southern light dappled by mature Beech and Sassafras trees at the wetland edge. Reconfiguring vehicular access opens the space to seating areas and a fire pit outside the main entry. The project will require Conservation Commission and Historic District Commission approval to complete schematic design.
